We receive thousands of inquiries each season regarding employment on the F/V Time Bandit. We hope this information will be useful to those who are genuinely interested in a career in commercial fishing in Alaska.
The Time Bandit is a small, family-owned-and-operated business with a limited number of positions available. We generally hire only seasoned fisherman with experience on Alaskan waters, and prefer those with experience in Alaskan crab fishing. Due to the length of our waiting list of qualified applicants, we are not currently accepting applications for employment.
For those of you who are genuinely interested in beginning a career in an Alaskan fishery, we strongly recommend that you read The Big Bucks Guide To Commercial Fishing In Alaska written by Captain Jonathan Allen. This book, which has been read and approved by Captain Andy Hillstrand, contains all the information you need to break into the industry as well as the contact information for companies to apply to. The book is available at Amazon.com Commercial Fishing In Alaska and can usually be ordered from your local book store.
