Remaining true to the Hillstrand fishing legacy, Captain Johnathan's son, Scott Hillstrand, serves aboard the F/V Time Bandit as a deckhand. He commonly runs the boat's hydraulics, but is trained to do anything on board.
Scott, 27, was born in Homer, Alaska, and has been commercial fishing since he was 15. He has fished on the east coast with his father, and in Alaska aboard the Time Bandit.
Scott plans on continuing to work on the Time Bandit, and eventually taking over the family business. He will be acquiring his captain's license after the 2010 Opie season.
Scott's hobbies include hunting, sport fishing, machining, and motorcycles. He enjoys a variety of music, sitting around campfires, and anything "fast". He also has intentions of writing and publishing a book.
Scott is the proud father of his 2 year-old son, Sawyer.
